I know that the agreed-upon plural of dot com
puts a simple s
at the end, but doesn't that seem a bit wrong? Com
stands for commercial,
and one wouldn't say a number of dot commercials.
Perhaps we should treat this like the plurals of attorney general
and gentleman farmer,
and say, simply, a number of dots com
!
Well, whatever you call them, I own a number of domain names. My collection of old writings will appear on wirkman.net, along with my new, ahem, blog, Designated Semiotician. On wirkman.com I'll try to sell some stuff, but also keep a portal to my sites, too, with current content, and even pictures.
Oh, I should put in some links here. To friends' sites. I had a list once, but accidentally destroyed it. So now, over time, I'll add to this page. For now, go to Eric Dixon's site, Shrubbloggers, or to Jesse Walker's The Perpetual Three-Dot Column. Oh, and I often visit Reason magazine's blog, Hit and Run. Good stuff.
